"benny and joon" on the tv
sometimes my room has an unsettling feeling. the dim lighting, the sandy/dirty floor, the piles of plastic plates, the dark corners, the occasional bug, the sticky residue that gets on your feet, etc. i'm thinking the place has to be remodeled soon, try to make it more cheerful. new lamps and something to block the sand from blowing underneath my door.
my hair is super-itchy, my hands smell of cloves (from massage oil), and there is cat vomit near my feet. and man, this day has seemed like it has been the equivalent of a week's time.
but tonight we finally had the courage. after picking up
ellie and
justin, we decided to make a stroll into 'super buffet king' for dinner. it took guts, but once we were within the walls, the fear dissapeared. we were greeted with a waterfall-style fountain, koi fish, and light-up murals. the place was very suprisingly clean and had huge crystal chandeliers hanging from pink domes. we grabbed our plates and headed for the enormous buffet of sushi, chinese soups, rice, noodles, marinated brocolli, fried donuts, egg rolls, and much more. i felt in heaven. who would have thought a place in front of k-mart with a huge glowing crown on the front could be so magnificant?
i think i have found a new hangout in this one-horse town.
